Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. The Bogor Subregional Police engaged the the Indonesian National Police (INP) Forensics Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) to investigate the causes of the massive fire that lasted for more than 12 hours at Leuwiliang Market, Bogor Regency, West Java.
The Bogor Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Rio Wahyu Anggoro, said that the Puslabfor team would conduct a crime scene investigation (CSI) at the site of the fire on Saturday (30/9/2023).
"I will lead the CSI starting at 10:00 AM. The results and causes will only be announced a week later," he said.
The fire at Leuwiliang Market, which engulfed hundreds of stalls selling groceries, fruits, and clothing, was reported to have started on Wednesday, September 27, at around 8:00 PM until Thursday at 1:00 PM.
According to data from the Department of Trade and Industry of Bogor Regency, out of the 590 stalls in Leuwiliang Market, 550 of them were completely burnt.
Furthermore, out of the 641 stalls, 580 of them were also affected by the fire. The fire that lasted for more than 12 hours also destroyed 450 awning stalls and 35 street vendors' stalls.
