Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Criminal Investigation Agency’s Directorate of Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking is leading reforms to improve the ways it handles reports of sexual violence under Law No. 12/2022 on Sexual Violence Crimes.

“Our future approach will focus on improving procedures,” said Senior Superintendent Rita Wulandari, the Head of Sub-directorate 1 of the Women and Children Directorate, during a national webinar on the Law on Wednesday (23/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com

She explained that for cases involving physical assault, victims will first be taken to Bhayangkara hospitals or assigned clinics, and officers will come directly to file the report at the hospital.

This victim-centered model is already in place and will be reinforced through permanent systems and regulations.

The INP is also conducting certified training for regional police units, equipping officers with tools to educate their teams effectively. Collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies is underway to ensure the Law is implemented thoroughly and victims’ rights are protected, Chief Rita said.
