Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Food Task Force has taken enforcement action against three rice producers allegedly adulterating their products in violation of national quality standards.
Despite the ongoing investigation, authorities assured that the country’s rice supply remains stable.
“Rice distribution continues smoothly, and stock in the market is not disrupted,” said Brigadier General Helfi Assegaf, the Head of the INP’s Food Task Force and the INP’s Director of Economic Crimes, on Thursday (24/7/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The police ordered the companies to adjust product labeling to reflect actual rice composition and lower prices in accordance with the highest retail price regulations. To date, 201 tons of rice have been seized for further examination.
The three companies under scrutiny, identified as PT PIM, PT FS, and PT SY, —are under investigation, with no suspects named yet as police continue questioning witnesses and conducting expert analysis.
