inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A total of 1,310 juveniles across Indonesia received sentence reductions (PMP) in celebrating the National Children's Day (HAN) 2025, awarded by the Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas).
Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto stated that the PMP, awarded to coincide with the commemoration of HAN on Wednesday, can increase motivation and positive behavior, accelerate social reintegration, reduce psychological burdens, strengthen family relationships, and build hope and a brighter future.
"PMP is a concrete manifestation of the state's appreciation for juveniles in custody who have done good and improved themselves. It is an indicator that juveniles have complied with regulations and participated in the correctional program well," said Minister Agus on Wednesday (7/23/2025).
Of the 1,310 who received PMP, 38 were immediately released after receiving PMP HAN II; while the remaining 1,272 juveniles still need to undergo correctional assistance after receiving PMP HAN I.
"I hope this sentence reduction program can inspire and motivate inmates to fill their days with more beneficial activities," hoped Agus.
He also expressed his appreciation for all correctional officers who have carried out their duties and responsibilities in guiding inmates, as well as the government, agencies, and related social institutions that have supported the tasks and functions of correctional institutions.
