inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police (INP) is targeting 5,000 electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) systems to be installed across Indonesia by 2027.
The Head of the Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, revealed that 1,641 ETLEs have been installed across Indonesia.
"We will add more later. The target is around 3,000 to 5,000 ETLEs in 2027," said Agus on Thursday (10/9/2025).
He said that the addition of ETLEs is an effort by the Traffic Corps' digital transformation in the field of traffic law enforcement.
On the other hand, he also revealed that law enforcement through ticketing has succeeded in reducing the number of fatalities on the highway.
"It's proven that in the first semester of 2025, the fatality rate dropped by 19.8 percent. So, we were able to reduce around 2,500 deaths," said the Head of the Traffic Corps.
Agus added that the ETLE used by the traffic police (polantas) consists of various types.
First, the handheld ETLE which is a small box that works as a scanner and a mobile phone connected to the system. This ETLE is only used by certified traffic police.
"The handheld ETLE is (more) practical," said the Head of the Traffic Corps.
Then, the portable ETLE which is shaped like a static ETLE on the highway. Specially, the portable ETLE can be carried by traffic police by being attached to a patrol car.
Finally, the mobile ETLE is installed in a traffic police patrol car. In one vehicle, there are eight ETLE cameras.
