inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) representing Indonesia wins the gold medal at the 2025 World Police And Fire Games (WPFG) in Birmingham, Alabama, United States (US).
This year marks the first time Indonesia has sent an athlete contingent to the international police and firefighter sports event.
The WPFG event was attended by more than 8,500 participants from 70 countries.
Thousands of athletes competed for 1,600 medals. WPFG is one of the largest multi-sport events in the world after the Olympics and the Asian Games.
"In the Women's 18-29 year old class in the 450 meter Sprint race, Indonesian athlete Yunia Angelly Syahdat managed to win a gold medal, beating a Malaysian athlete who won a silver medal, and an Indian athlete who won a bronze medal," said the Head of the INP Personnel Care Bureau, Brigadier General Budhi Herdi Susianto on Sunday (6/29/2025).
INP has sent 97 of its best athletes to compete in 8 sports, namely volleyball, basketball, swimming, athletics, golf, cycling, judo, and taekwondo.
WPFG 2025 took place from June 27 to July 6, 2025. This international sports competition is held every two years. Police and firefighters, both active and retired, can participate in this event.
