The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Investigative Team confiscated in12 firearms, cash and documents, at Minister Limpo's official residence in South Jakarta, on Thursday (28/9/2023).
Minister Mahfud said that the presence of firearms in the homes of government officials is not a common occurrence in Indonesia, making this discovery particularly significant., saying that such incidents require immediate attention to uphold the law, provide certainty to the public, and protect the nation's security.
In addition to addressing the firearms issue, Minister Mahfud MD responded to reports of alleged corruption within the Ministry of Agriculture. Reports suggested that documents were tampered with or destroyed during a search conducted by the KPK Investigative Team.
"Yes, it must be investigated. It is a criminal act in itself if it exists. Corruption itself is a criminal act, and document destruction is also a criminal act with its own legal consequences; it must be pursued," he said, expressing his full supports to assist law enforcement authorities in uncovering all the latest findings related to the alleged corruption within the Ministry of Agriculture.
