Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Iran has declared its commitment to assist in the evacuation of Indonesian citizens should tensions in the region worsen as Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Mohammad Boroujerdi assured that his government would provide assistance and services to ease any evacuation process.
“We are prepared to facilitate the return of Indonesian nationals if evacuation becomes necessary,” he said in a press briefing in Jakarta on Tuesday (17/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The Iranian government also pledged full protection for Indonesians in the country. Amid the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed continuous communication with Iranian authorities.
Currently, 386 Indonesians reside in Iran—mostly students in Qom—and 194 in Israel. No Indonesian casualties have been reported. However, 52 Indonesians remain stranded in the region due to airspace closures and suspended flights.
The Indonesian embassies in Tehran and Amman continue monitoring the situation, while expressing gratitude for Indonesian support against Israeli aggression.
