Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Floodwaters have inundated 105 neighborhoods and five major roads across Jakarta, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded on Tuesday (4/3/2025).
Rising water levels, fueled by heavy rains and the overflowing Ciliwung River, have forced hundreds to evacuate.
“We urge residents to remain cautious and prepared for potential flooding,” BPBD Jakarta Chief Isnawa Adji said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Jakarta’s worst-hit areas include 46 neighborhoods in South Jakarta and 25 in East Jakarta, with water levels reaching up to 4.5 meters in some districts. Flooding has also submerged key roads, including Jalan Puri Mutiara in South Jakarta, where water levels stand at one meter.
Evacuation sites have been set up, sheltering hundreds of displaced residents. BPBD Jakarta has distributed emergency supplies, including 1,000 food boxes, blankets, and essential kits. Authorities continue to monitor water levels, while rescue teams remain deployed as flood conditions persist.
In nearby Tangerang Regency, around 3,000 people have been affected, with floods reaching one meter in six districts, including Teluk Naga and Pagedangan.
"Our teams are on the ground, ensuring evacuations and distributing essential aid," said Ujat Sudrajat, the Head of BPBD Tangerang Regency.
In addition, BPBD in South Tangerang reported that 1,000 households have been affected by the flooding.
