Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police and the Indonesian Military Headquarters Police (Puspom TNI) planned to take against vendors selling fake vehicle plates, responding to a surge in illegal usage.
"In the future, we will collaborate both through the traffic unit and with the TNI," said the Director of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Metro Jaya Police, Senior Superintendent Wira Satya Triputra, on Friday (04/19/2024).
Their focus was on cracking down both on sellers and drivers misusing these plates, stressing the importance of unified enforcement.
This initiative came as a response to the growing prevalence of counterfeit official plates, aiming to restore order on the roads, he said.
The effort reflected a commitment to combating illegal activities and ensuring compliance with vehicle identification regulations.
By targeting both sellers and users, authorities aimed to disrupt networks involved in producing and distributing counterfeit plates, thereby safeguarding public safety and preserving the integrity of official documentation, Chief WIra explained.
