"Today, we are witnessing a simulation to revisit the protocols for the lowest escalation to the highest one," the Jakarta Metro Regional Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto said during the simulation at the the Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters on Wednesday, (18/10/2023). He said that the mobilized officers consisted of 10,980 military personnel, 1,000 Mobile Brigade personnel, 9,866 regional task forces personnel, 10,342 sub-regional task forces personnel, and 131,132 community protection personnel. "I am confident that with the solid support from the government, the Indonesian Military, the Indonesian National Police and the entire community, we can achieved peaceful elections in 2024," Chief Karyoto asserted. He added that law enforcement officers must prepare to implement actions from a preemptive stage, preventive measures, and repressive actions using the correct and proper methods. Outreach activities and educating the public will be carried out to create a better atmosphere of peace and security in Jakarta, especially during the 2024 elections. (mg/bg/pr/nm)
