Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Jessica Kumala Wongso, convicted in the cyanide-laced coffee murder of Wayan Mirna Salihin, has filed a petition for a judicial review (PK) of the Supreme Court's ruling with the Central Jakarta District Court.

Jessica’s lawyer, Otto Hasibuan, explained that the petition is based on newly discovered evidence, or also  known as novum, and judicial errors. 

"We want to register this petition first and will explain the supporting details afterward," Otto said on Wednesday (9/10/2024).

Although Jessica is on parole, Otto noted that she maintains her innocence and seeks a Supreme Court ruling to declare her not guilty. He emphasized that the judicial review is a right for anyone who feels wrongfully accused, as reported by antaranews.com.

Otto hopes the review will restore Jessica's name, status, and dignity. 

"That’s all; there are no other demands," he added.

Jessica said that she did not prepare anything specific for the petition, as her legal team handled all the preparations.

 "I hope this judicial review goes smoothly and is granted. That’s all, thank you," she said.

The Attorney General's Office is prepared to address Jessica's petition, stressing the need for solid legal grounds for the review.
