Inp.polri.go.id – East Java. The East Java Regional Police and Indonesian National Police (INP) Food Task Force reviews several markets in East Java to inspect food price and availability ahead of the 2024 Eid. The Head of Food Distribution Sub-task Force of INP, Senior Superintendent Teddy Suhendywan Syarif says that his party is undergoing food price inspection on a national scale. The step was taken due to the news of price increase. “We saw that the price issue in the market has been going viral lately in social media. Turns out, several commodities, such as rice, has been going down along with other primary supplies,” said Teddy on Saturday (3/23/2024). On their inspection at Wonokromo Market, Surabaya, East Java. He admits that he still saw several commodities that are still expensive. He assessed that the root cause of the issue is due to the high demand as the Eid Al-fitr is closing in. “The price of eeg remains, so does chicken meat. We did not find any price increase on them,” says Teddy. Teddy then continues his inspection to several markets in Kediri Regency, Mojokerto, to Surabaya City. “We are checking throughout the province to ensure the stock is safe, meaning the stock is meeting the public demand. In the end, we could conclude that the food prices in East Java are still normal. On a national scale, it is normal,” said Teddy in his report. (ad/fa/pr/m)
