Inp.polri.go.id – Palu. The Indonesian President Jokowi inaugurates Mutiara Sis Al-Jufri Airport in Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province on Tuesday (3/26/2024).
“The airport was heavily damaged back in 2018 due to the earthquake. Runway and terminal were damaged and we need to rehabilitate and reconstruct the airport,” said Jokowi on Tuesday (3/26/2024).
He says that the project costs the government IDR 567 billion for reconstructing the airport with the 2,500 meters and 45 meters wide runway.
“With how wide the runway is, the airport is able to accommodate the landing of bigger planes,” says Jokowi.
Jokowi hopes the airport could be used and helped the people of Palu City and boost the mobility of people and goods in Central Sulawesi.
Other than inaugurating the Mutiara Sis Al-Jufri Airport, Jokowi also inaugurate other airports in Banggai Laut Regency, Gorontalo, and in North Sulawesi virtually.
“We understand how important the airport is, and that is why the government built and rehabilitated the construction to support people’s activity,” said Jokowi.
