inp.polri.go.id – On Jokowi’s visit to Japan, he stated that he hopes that Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will attend the G20 summit in Bali which will take place next November. "I hope PM Kishida will attend the G20 summit in Bali, in November," Jokowi said in an official statement on Wednesday (27/7) During his visit, he also expressed his condolences for the death of the former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe. According to Jokowi, Abe is one of Japanese leader who has brought the relations between the two countries into a strategic partnership. Jokowi and the delegation arrived in Japan in the early hours of Wednesday. They went to Tokyo after visiting China to meet President Xi Jinping. Upon his arrival, Jokowi was greeted by PM Kishida who was already waiting in the front yard of his office. After the two leaders were on the rostrum of honor, the national anthems of each country played. In his remarks, Kishida expressed his appreciation for the arrival of Jokowi and his entourage to Japan. "Welcome to Japan, I really appreciate the arrival of President Jokowi as chairman of the G20. Thank you also for the warm welcome when I visited Indonesia at the end of April," said Kishida. Kishida also expressed his gratitude for the condolences of Jokowi and the Indonesian people to Shinzo Abe. "We will continue to defend democracy and continue the work of Shinzo Abe to strengthen good relations and cooperation with Indonesia," Kishida said. After completing his bilateral meeting with Kishida, Jokowi will continue his visit to South Korea to meet President Yoon Seok-yeol.
