Jokowi Prepares to Meet with the Japanese Government after his Visit to China

inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. H. Joko Widodo went to Japan to meet with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida after visiting China, Wednesday (27/7). "Tonight, the President and his delegation will fly to Tokyo, Japan," said Retno after completing Jokowi's visit to China through an official statement broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel on Tuesday (26/7) night. She then continued, "Tomorrow morning, the President's plan is to meet with the Japanese prime minister, and visited the Japanese emperor." A similar statement was made by the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Achmad Rizal Purnomo. " We just had completed our visit in Beijing, and now we will depart soon" Rizal told CNNIndonesia.com. The Garuda Indonesia GIA-1, which carries Jokowi and his entouragem took off from Beijing Capital International Airport at around 20.00 local time. They are expected to arrive at Haneda International Airport in Tokyo in the early hours of Wednesday (27/7). Apart from Jokowi's wife, Iriana, a number of officials accompanied his trip to Japan, including the Minister of Foreigh Affairs Retno Marsudi, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia. The meeting between Jokowi and Kishida will discuss around economic cooperation, trade, and regional and international issues. When meeting with Xi Jinping, Jokowi discussed about the strengthening of economic cooperation, ASEAN, the G20, and praised the peaceful mission of Jokowi when he visited Ukraine-Russia. Retno previously stated that Jokowi's visit to China, Japan, and South Korea would discuss economic cooperation as well as regional and international issues. "In addition to discussing strengthening bilateral cooperation, President [Jokowi] and the leaders of the three countries, in their respective bilateral meetings, will discuss the latest developments on several regional and international issues," said Retno during a press conference last week. After leaving Japan, Jokowi will continue his trip to South Korea to meet President Yoon Seok-yeol on Thursday (28/7).
