Inp.polri.go.id - West Java. The Majalengka Sub-Regional Police have confirmed the completion of security arrangements at Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, West Java. The airport will serve as an overnight parking site for state aircraft carrying participants and invitees of the 43rd ASEAN Summit. Multiple security personnel have been strategically positioned at the airport, said Police Superintendent Indra Novianto, the Chief of Majalengka Sub-Regional Police. "Our primary security focus within the jurisdiction of the Majalengka Sub-Regional Police is Kertajati Majalengka International Airport, designated for the landing of aircraft from participating ASEAN countries during the ASEAN Summit," he said as quoted by Antara on Tuesday (5/9/23). The security strategy, he explained, encompasses the third ring area, covering the vicinity surrounding the airport. Security measures prioritize preemptive and preventive actions, supported by intelligence gathering, law enforcement procedures, cyber security safeguards, and related protocols, executed in close coordination with the Indonesian Military and relevant government agencies. He underscored that all personnel involved in security operations have received rigorous training to ensure a comprehensive understanding of security protocols while on duty. The 43rd ASEAN Summit is taking place from September 5 to 7, 2023, in Jakarta. The event will convene leaders and representatives from 22 countries, including 11 ASEAN member states, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste.
