Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto said he was deeply moved after a global survey ranked Indonesia first as the world’s happiest nation, highlighting public resilience amid modest living conditions.
“Out of nearly 200 countries surveyed, Indonesia ranked number one where people say they are happy,” he said while addressing the National Christmas Celebration 2025 in Jakarta on Monday (5/1/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com
The survey, conducted by Harvard University and Gallup, measured public happiness across almost 200 countries. President Prabowo noted that the result was striking given that many Indonesians have yet to achieve full economic prosperity.
He emphasized that the finding reflects gratitude, social cohesion, and national unity rather than material wealth alone. The president claimed that the result also surprised other nations that often associate happiness solely with economic indicators.
In his remarks, President Prabowo called on Indonesians to remain thankful and united, particularly as global conditions are marked by uncertainty, conflict, and war. He stressed that Indonesia’s peaceful condition remains a key foundation for public well-being.
