Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Chairman of Indonesia's General Elections Commission (KPU), Hasyim Asy'ari, has admitted that his office has prepared compensation for ad hoc polling stations organizer officers who died while working during the 2024 election.
He explained that compensation for work-related accidents and death for ad hoc polling station organizers was regulated by KPU Regulation No. 8 of 2022 and technically regulated by KPU Regulation No. 59 of 2023. The amount of compensation has also been regulated based on a Minister of Finance Letter.
"The compensation amount is Rp 36,000,000 and the funeral assistance is Rp 10,000,000," Hasyim said on Saturday (17/2/2024)
According to the data, as of Friday at 6 pm, 35 officers had died, antaranews.com reported.
The ad hoc polling station organizer officers who died in the line of duty were one each in Aceh, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Riau, Banten, Yogyakarta, East Nusa Tenggara, North Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua and South Papua.There were also two in DKI Jakarta, six in West Java, seven in Central Java, seven in East Java and two in South Sulawesi.
Meanwhile, the number of ad hoc officials who fell ill during the voting and counting process for the 2024 elections at the polling station and sub-district level was 3,909.
