inp.polri.go.id - Deli Serdang. The North Sumatra Regional Police stated that flight activities at Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang, have returned to normal. This was stated after the closure following a bomb threat to Saudia Airlines.

Due to the bomb threat, the plane made an emergency landing at Kualanamu Airport.

"The airport has reopened after a brief closure. After the threat was neutralized, the airport has returned to normal," said the Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Ferry Walintukan, Tuesday (6/17/2025).

Ferry explained that the temporary closure was carried out to provide space for the passenger evacuation process and a thorough inspection of the plane and baggage. This was to ensure that there was no real threat.

"It was only for a moment for an emergency situation. The airport was closed so that it could land and evacuate everyone. After all the inspections were carried out, it was immediately reopened," he said.
