Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Law has praised state broadcaster TVRI for allowing communities and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to hold public screenings of the 2026 FIFA World Cup without licensing fees, ensuring legal certainty while supporting grassroots economic activity.
The policy applied nationwide after TVRI secured free-to-air broadcast rights for Indonesia.
“This policy sets a strong example of responsible copyright management while expanding public participation,” said Arie Ardian Rishadi, the Director of Law Enforcement at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property, on Friday (16/1/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The ministry said TVRI’s decision provides legal clarity for public screenings and educates the public on respecting broadcasting rights without limiting social and economic initiatives.
TVRI confirmed the program allows local administrations, communities, and MSMEs to organize screenings and engage local sponsors.
