Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Barbalin Naomi Kubewa, affectionately known as Lin, is the sole candidate from the West Papua Regional Police representing her region in the National Police Academy (Akpol) selection process at the central committee level.

She aims to prove that women from Papua can serve their country through the police force.

"My motivation to join the Police Academy comes from my strong desire to serve the nation and the country, and I chose the police force," Lin said on Friday (19/7/2024).

Born on 22 May 2005, in Jayapura, Lin is a proud blend of two Indonesian tribes. Her father is from the Oburauw tribe in Papua, and her mother hails from the Sundanese tribe in Java.

Growing up in West Papua, Lin has always been diligent. During her time at SMA N 2 Kaimana, she was appointed as the flag bearer for the Red and White Flag at the West Papua Province level during the 77th Indonesian Independence Day in 2022.

She takes great pride in being the first from her school to represent at the provincial level, having also served as a flag bearer at the district level in Kaimana the previous year.

As the eldest of five siblings, born to Royce Elizon Kubewa and Ernawati Atmaja, Lin has harbored dreams of becoming a police officer since childhood. She has continually honed her academic and physical abilities.

Lin is fluent in English and has notable achievements in singing, having won the National Student Art Competition Festival (FLS2N) in her region. She has worked diligently to pass the 2024 Police Academy selection process.

"I want to prove that female candidates from Papua can succeed, especially those from my district, Kaimana," Lin asserted.

Lin is one of seven candidates sent from the West Papua Police Department and the only female candidate from her region. She and 491 other candidates are currently undergoing the central committee selection process, which includes PSI and PMK interviews until Saturday. The central committee graduation session is scheduled for Monday.
