Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia's women's doubles duo, Meilysa Trias Puspitasari and Rachel Allessya Rose, triumphed at the BWF Super 300 Orleans Masters 2024 by defeating Japan's fourth-seeded pair, Rui Hirokami and Yuna Kato, with scores of 21-12, 21-18 in the final on Sunday (17/3/2024).
The intense final, lasting 56 minutes, showcased solid performances from both pairs. Meilysa and Rachel dominated the first game, securing an 11-4 lead at the interval before clinching it 21-12, as reported by antaranews.com
In the second game, Hirokami and Kato fought back, narrowing the gap to 10-7, but Meilysa and Rachel rallied to maintain a slim 11-10 lead at the interval. Despite a fierce battle, they secured victory with a score of 21-18.
In addition to Meilysa and Rachel's victory, two other Indonesian pairs secured medals in the Orleans Masters 2024.
Rinov Rivaldy and Pitha Haningtyas Mentari finished as runners-up in the mixed doubles category after a tense rubber game against Chinese duo Cheng Xing and Zhang Chi. Meanwhile, Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani earned silver in the men's doubles category after a three-set match against Malaysian pair Choong Hon Jian and Muhammad Haikal.
In Hanoi, mixed doubles newcomers Amri Syahnawi and Indah Cahya Sari Jamil won the runner-up position in the Vietnam International Challenge 2024 after a defeat against Thai representatives Pakkapon Teeraratsakul and Muenwong Phataimas.
