Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, emphasized that law enforcement of the Indosurya Savings and Loan Cooperative (KSP) investment fraud case must be continued. The crime committed by the perpetrators of the Indosurya investment fraud is a new mode of crime whose handling will not be stopped by the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of Polri. As stated by Mahfud MD, Wednesday (29/6/2022), the agreement regarding the cases is the conclusion of the communication made by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs with Polri, the Attorney General's Office, the Center for Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis, as well as the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs. The meeting was held to respond to the public's reaction to the release of the two suspects of Indosurya. The Bareskrim itself has actually said that the two suspects in the investment fraud case of KSP Indosurya, HS and JI, were released because their prison terms had expired. So, according to the legal rights, the two suspects must be released from detention. However, in his statement, Mahfud MD supported Bareskrim Polri to re-arrest the two suspects.
