The Puri Melayu Sri Menanti Traditional House is a house built around 1910 by Muhammad Nur Rangkuti and Siti Rahma (son of Ali Jambak "Japan Jaidan" the royal guard of Padang). Then it was restored in 1992 by Hasyim Nur Thaib and Zaleha Rangkuti. The house which has a Malay characteristic building with the concept of a house on stilts is used as a family gathering place. As the name implies, Puri Melayu Sri Menanti means a house that always awaits the arrival of a large family. The Puri Melayu Sri Menanti Traditional House was renovated again in 2000 by the Al Hasyimiyah Foundation, which was later used as a studio for traditional dance, Malay silat, and songket weaving. "Today I am very happy to be able to visit the Puri Melayu Sri Menanti Traditional House. Earlier, we saw some displays of children learning Malay dance and they have the potential as a cultural and historical tourist attraction.
