inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Baparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno inspects the "Puri Melayu Sri Menanti Traditional House" in Tebing Tinggi City, North Sumatra. The Puri Melayu Sri Menanti Traditional House is a house built around 1910 by Muhammad Nur Rangkuti and Siti Rahma (son of Ali Jambak "Japan Jaidan" the royal guard of Padang). Then it was restored in 1992 by Hasyim Nur Thaib and Zaleha Rangkuti. The house which has a Malay characteristic building with the concept of a house on stilts is used as a family gathering place. As the name implies, Puri Melayu Sri Menanti means a house that always awaits the arrival of a large family. The Puri Melayu Sri Menanti Traditional House was renovated again in 2000 by the Al Hasyimiyah Foundation, which was later used as a studio for traditional dance, Malay silat, and songket weaving. "Today I am very happy to be able to visit the Puri Melayu Sri Menanti Traditional House. Earlier, we saw some displays of children learning Malay dance and they have the potential as a cultural and historical tourist attraction. And have storynomics, which are the stories that will be able to open up business opportunities, "explained the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy. The main material of this building is wood. The lower floor of the house is used as a place to weave Malay songket and relax. Meanwhile, upstairs there is a living room containing a Malay altar, in the family room there are relics of brass equipment for Malay traditional ceremonies. Menparekraf Sandiaga invited all parties to jointly preserve the existing culture of Puri Melayu Sri Menanti Traditional House, so that the values contained in it do not fade away, and provide benefits for the local community, especially the City of Tebing Tinggi. "I hope the awareness of the local community in preserving culture and managing this traditional house will be higher. Let's work together so that this culture can continue to be enjoyed by our children and grandchildren for thousands of years to come and be able to prosper our society," stated Menparekraf. The Deputy Governor of North Sumatra, Musa Rajekshah, appreciated the steps taken by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy in encouraging economic revival. The reason is that Menparekraf does not just go directly to the field, but really pays attention to and cares about the welfare of the community. Policies and programs are presented in accordance with the needs of the people. "We are really grateful, because right now we really need to promote this area and awaken our local cultural arts. Hopefully, your presence and help here will make the people more enthusiastic in advancing tourism and the creative economy of the region," said the Deputy Governor of North Sumatra. The Mayor of Tebing Tinggi, Muhammad Dimiyathi, thanked the Menparekraf for coming to the City of Tebing Tinggi. He hoped that the visit of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, will make Tebing Tinggi much more acknowledged by the general public. "Menparekraf's visit to Tebing Tinggi is a gift for us, especially in these economic recovery phase. We hope that your visit will be our motivation to revive the tourism sector and the creative economy of Tebing Tinggi," he said.
