Inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto confirmed on Sunday (22/9/2024) that the seven male bodies found in Kali Bekasi river in Jatiasih, Bekasi, West Java, were involved in a brawl.
He said that the deceased young men had jumped into the river during a brawl early on Saturday morning.
"They jumped into the river in fear of a passing patrol or someone confronting them. We are investigating further," Chief Karyoto said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
According to statements from their detained friends, the group had planned to celebrate a birthday, but no cake was found—only sharp weapons.
"The claim was they were celebrating a birthday, but where's the cake? And the scene doesn’t fit a celebration, with weapons found instead," Chief Karyoto added.
