Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Samapta Directorate deployed 10 officers to assist in evacuating flood-affected residents in Kebon Pala, East Jakarta, following the overflow of the Ciliwung River on Sunday morning (6/7/2025).
Metro Jaya Police Director of Samapta, Senior Superintendent Yully Kurniawan, said that the team used a canoe, a search and rescue (SAR) truck, life vests, a ring buoy, and operational vehicles to support the evacuation.
“Evacuation efforts focused on the safety of residents, especially vulnerable groups,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Water levels reportedly reached 180 cm, affecting at least 14 families. Evacuated residents were relocated to SDN Kampung Melayu elementary school and the Ittihadul Ikhwan Mosque Hall. The evacuees included adults, children, the elderly, and infants.
The Samapta Directorate, known for its rapid response capabilities in public safety and disaster situations, played a key role in ensuring the evacuation ran smoothly and efficiently.
Residents are urged to stay alert, evacuate early, turn off electricity, and follow safety instructions from officers.
