Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Jakarta Immigration Office is investigating two foreign men (FNs) suspected of using hypnosis to steal money from a cashier at a seafood restaurant in Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Friday.
“In response to the viral video involving foreign nationals, South Jakarta Immigration is tracking their whereabouts,” said Prihatno Juniardi, the Head of Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement, on Sunday (6/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The suspects are currently being traced through immigration systems. Authorities are urging the public to report any information regarding the individuals.
The case, now under investigation by the South Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police, involves two alleged perpetrators—reportedly a foreign couple—who were caught on CCTV during the incident. The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows the woman distracting the cashier by ordering bottled water, while the man reaches into the cashier's drawer and takes the money.
The restaurant was reportedly crowded at the time. The stolen amount is estimated to be around Rp 1 million. The victim has filed a police report with the Cilandak Police Office.
