Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have suspended the detention of social media activist Figha Lesmana, who was arrested following a violent protest outside the Indonesian Parliament complex in late August 2025.
“The Criminal Investigation Directorate has granted a suspension of detention for suspect FL on Friday, 3 October 2025, after a thorough legal review considering two main aspects — humanitarian and investigative,” said Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri on Thursday (9/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He explained that the decision was partly based on humanitarian grounds, as Figha is a mother of a young child.
“She bears responsibility for her child’s care and upbringing, so we decided to suspend her detention,” Chief Asep added.
Figha and several activists were accused of inciting unrest during the protest. Chief Asep emphasized that the decision reflected the police’s commitment to uphold justice with professionalism, fairness, and a human-centered approach.
