Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police declared that they were ready to face the second pretrial motion filed by former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Firli Bahuri challenging his status as a suspect in the extortion case involving former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Firli filed a second lawsuit with the South Jakarta District Court on Monday. "The investigators, through the Legal Advocacy Team of Metro Jaya Police, are fully prepared to face it," the Director of Special Criminal Investigation Unit at Metro Jaya Police, Senior Superintendent Safri Simanjuntak, said in a statement on Tuesday (23/1/2024), He emphasized that the joint investigative team from the Metro Jaya Police' and the Indonesian National Police (INP) has handled the case professionally, transparently, and accountably. "The series of investigative actions taken by the team to search for and collect evidence have shed light on the criminal acts and identified the suspect. All of this has been tested in the previous pretrial hearing," Director Safri added. Firli's  previous pretrial motion against the Chief of the Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Karyoto, was rejected by the South Jakarta District Court. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
