inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Karyoto led the roll call for the 2024 Lilin Jaya Operation at the Cross Field of National Monument.

Also seen at the roll call are the Acting Governor of Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi and Jakarta Regional Military Commander Rafael Granada Baay. The operation itself will be carried out until January 2nd, 2025.

“The celebration of Christmas and New Year’s Eve are the long awaited moment for people to pray, rejoice, take vacation, and gather with family. So that it will have a massive impact on public mobility and activities in various regions,” says Karyoto.

He explained, during the Christmas and New Year’s Eve holiday, it is estimated that 110.67 million people will move for recreation and traveling. That number, said the Chief of Police, increased by 2.83 percent or 3.04 million people compared to the previous year.

"This operation involves 141,605 joint personnel consisting of 75,447 Indonesian National Police personnel, 13,826 Indonesian National Military  personnel, and 52,332 personnel from other related stakeholders," said Karyoto.

He adds that his party has established 2,794 posts consisting of 1,852 security post, 735 service post and 207 integrated posts spread throughout the region, to ensure security at 61,452 security objects such as churches, shopping centers, terminals, stations, ports, airports, tourist attractions and New Year celebration locations.

In his closing statement, he prays that the holiday celebration will be going smoothly and the operations are going accordingly.
