inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait is ready to build two tower flats in the New Autonomous Region (DOB) of Papua Mountains for the community.

“This year we will begin the construction of two tower flats in Papua Mountains,” says Maruarar on Thursday (11/7/2024).

This move demonstrates the attention of the government in providing a place to live for the people while also pushing for equitable development in the Papua region.

According to Maruarar, the budget for the construction of flats in the area has been included in the State Budget. He saw that this step shows that the government is trying to increase infrastructure development, especially habitable housing for people throughout Indonesia, including in the Papua Mountains.

To facilitate the construction of the flats, his party will coordinate with the Papua Pegunungan Provincial Government to ensure the development process runs well and smoothly in the field.

"We ask for your prayers and support so that this project would go smoothly. Of course we will also consider all technical aspects as logistics distribution is not easy as,if I'm not mistaken, every deliveries beyond Jayapura must be delivered by aircraft, including the heavy equipment. On the other hand, we are also considering about the safety and security aspect of this project," said Maruarar.

He also conveyed an important message from President Prabowo Subianto to avoid corruption in this project development. In addition, cross-sector coordination in the construction of 3 million houses for the people is also very much needed, thus a thorough planning between parties are required.
