inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid expressed concern over the increasing number of eye health problems in children caused by prolonged screen time.

She conveyed this during the launch of the Free School Health Check (CKG) program at Penaburan Catholic Middle School, Gading Serpong, Tangerang, on Monday (8/4/2025).

"From the examination results, one of the most common problems found was eye health. This is closely related to excessive screen time," said Minister Meutya.

She emphasized that this phenomenon is a warning sign for parents to more actively monitor their children's use of digital devices at home.

"We realize that gadgets are difficult to avoid, but usage time needs to be regulated to prevent health damage, especially to children's eyes," she added.

The School CKG program is part of the Fast Best Results Program (PHTC) of President Prabowo's administration, which targets 53 million students across Indonesia to receive free health checks. Meutya stated that this program supports the vision of creating the 2045 Golden Generation.

"No student must be left behind. Everyone from Sabang to Merauke must be prepared well," the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs emphasized.
