Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana announced on Sunday (11/3/2024) plans to investigate recent price increases for tourist site entry fees and drone usage permits, which have sparked public concern.

She intended to discuss the issue further with the Ministry of Environment.

Following recent policy adjustments, entry fees at several tourist sites, including hiking areas, have surged. Notably, the fishing fee at Komodo National Park jumped from Rp 25,000 to Rp 5 million per person.

Drone permit fees at attractions such as Mount Bromo’s caldera, a popular filming site, have also risen from Rp 300,000 to Rp 2 million per unit. In addition, commercial video equipment fees in Bromo now reach IDR 10 million for Indonesians and Rp 20 million for foreigners.

These adjustments follow Government Regulation No. 36 of 2024, which establishes fees for non-tax state revenues under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.  The new regulations took effect nationwide on 30 October 2024, affecting national parks like Bromo Tengger Semeru (TNBTS).

“We aim to ensure that the revised fees balance accessibility with conservation needs,” Minister Widiyanti said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
