“We want to ensure that all infrastructures of water resources, roads, and bridges function optimally through inspection and repair. This is part of our preparation to support smooth traffic towards 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year Eve,” says Minister PU on Tuesday (12/3/2024).

He reminded all ranks of the ministry to be ready to face more extreme weather situations.

In addition to ensuring infrastructure readiness, Dody also conveyed the importance of strengthening coordination and communication internally and with the ministries/institution

Officers in the field, says Dodi, are instructed to report infrastructure conditions regularly and immediately report the potential emergencies or disaster threats.

Dodi also ensure the availability of emergency response budgets, equipment, and emergency materials, such as heavy equipment, evacuation vehicles, mobile toilets, water tanks, flood materials, and others so that they are ready to be used at any time.

"Prepare posts and trained human resources and be ready for emergency response, especially in disaster-prone areas," said the Minister of Public Works.

He also added that his party also conducted socialization and education to the community by providing easy-to-understand information regarding the steps that must be taken by the community when a disaster occurs, especially in disaster-prone areas.

Then, carry out continuous monitoring and evaluation by conducting regular monitoring of infrastructure conditions and routine evaluation of the implementation of preparedness.
