Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Trade Budi Santoso confirmed on Sunday (3/5/2026) that the planned price adjustment for the government’s subsidized cooking oil, Minyakita, is unrelated to the implementation of the B50 biodiesel program.
He clarified that the decision is purely driven by rising crude palm oil (CPO) prices and increased production costs.
“There is no connection at all. This is because CPO prices and production costs have risen, so we must adjust accordingly,” Minister Budi said in Jakarta, as cited by antaranews.com.
He added that the retail price ceiling (HET) has remained unchanged since 2024 and is currently under inter-ministerial review.
Despite the planned hike, the Minister assured that national supply remains secure. While prices in Papua are slightly higher due to logistics, the government has instructed state logistics company Bulog to stabilize distribution in the region.
Currently, Minyakita averages Rp 15,800 per liter nationwide, which the Minister noted is a slight improvement from previous weeks.
