National Police Confiscate 400 JI Charity Boxes Scattered in Restaurants, Minimarkets and Mosques

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Hundreds of charity boxes scattered in the Lampung area, allegedly belonging to the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) group, were confiscated by the police.

The 400 charitable boxes that were confiscated were scattered in some places in Lampung, ranging from houses, restaurants, mini markets to prayer rooms.

Hundreds of charity boxes, the results are expected to be used as a form of fundraising for operations in Lampung.

They were being spread out, starting from food stalls or restaurants. Then, mini markets to prayer rooms and mosques in Lampung said the Head of the General Information of the National Police Public Relations Division, Pol. Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan told reporters, Wednesday (11/10/21).

The Head of the General Information Bureau of the Public Information Bureau said that the distribution of charity boxes for fundraising was spread in almost all cities and regencies in Lampung, starting from South Lampung Regency, East Lampung Regency, and North Lampung Regency.

He continued, there were also in Central Lampung Regency, Metro City, Tulang Bawang Regency, Pringsewu Regency, Pesawaran Regency, West Lampung Regency, Bandar Lampung City, Tulang Bawang Barat Regency and Pesisir Barat Regency.

"We confiscated about 400 charity boxes in almost all areas in Lampung," he explained.

Previously, the Head of the Operational Assistance for Detachment 88 of National Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Aswin Siregar explained that the JI group had distributed thousands of charity boxes in 13 regions in Indonesia, including Jakarta and Lampung.

Thousands of scattered charity boxes were recorded in the name of the Abdurrahman Bin Auf Amil Zakat Institution (LAZ ABA).

"Through the charity box, JI received huge funds for operations and kept it alive," explained the Head of the Operational Assistance Section for Detachment 88 of National Police.
