Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. North Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have issued a stern warning to debt collectors to stop forcibly seizing vehicles from debtors in public areas.

“I’m reminding all debt collectors not to resort to force when reclaiming vehicles,” said North Jakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Ahmad Fuady on Tuesday (13/5/2025). “There are clear procedures under fiduciary law that must be followed—forced seizures are illegal and we will take firm legal action.”

He urged the public to report any such incidents via the police hotline 110, promising immediate response from officers.

Residents have raised concerns about groups of debt collectors gathering daily in areas like the North Jakarta Sports Arena, with one witness describing dangerous chase scenes during vehicle seizures.

Police recently arrested several collectors involved in similar disruptive actions in other parts of the city.
