Inp.polri.go.id - Tanjung Selor. The North Kalimantan Regional Police confirmed on Thursday (12/9/2024 that it has intercepted an attempt to smuggle six kilograms of methamphetamine from Tawau, Malaysia and arrest a suspect on 5 September 2024.
North Kalimantan Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Budi Rachmat, said that the suspect, identified as Indonesian “W" from Southeast Sulawesi of Kendari, was arrested carrying suspicious packages after disembarking from a speedboat on Sungai Bandara river in tarakan, following an intelligence report.
Upon inspection, four large packages of meth, concealed in buckets, were discovered. Additional evidence, including a phone and personal items, was also seized, according to antaranews.com.
Suspect W is currently in custody for further investigation. The police urge the public to report suspicious activities to combat drug trafficking.
