inp.polri.go.id - The North Maluku Regional Police arrested eleven people who were proven to have misused subsidized fuel.
Head of Public Relations of the North Maluku Police, Commissioner Michael Irwan Thamsil, said that in handling the six cases of misuse of subsidized fuel at the four police resort, the 11 perpetrators were arrested on Monday (29/08/2022).
The handling of misuse of subsidized fuel in North Maluku, was done by Ternate Police which handles two cases, Central Halmahera two cases, and South Halmahera one case.
From the five cases, there are 11 suspects with the initials of NP (27), YW (48), AP (31), MM (28), ABL (22), RS, S, J (46), S, U, and YH (30).
From revealing the cases, the authorities also confiscated the evidence of a tank car containing 12,000 liters of subsidized diesel fuel, found in the PT BB Posi-Posi camp area, South Halmahera Regency.
Then, there are 1,250 liters of kerosene type fuel in 50 jerry cans, 750 liters of pertalite in 30 jerry cans, and 5,000 liters of dexlite type of fuel were also found.
Several vehicles were also secured by the authorities, such as red tank car with police number DG 8140 KU, a white Calya vehicle with number DW 1650 LQ, and a pickup car with Nopol DG 8273 KC.
Furthermore, the Head of Ternate Police, AKBP Andik Purnomo Sigit, said that his party have deployed his personnel and directly monitor the case regarding the misused of diesel fuel. He said that he will intensify the security regarding to the distribution of subsidized fuel.
He also added that until now no insiders have been found involved in the misuse of subsidized fuel, and if they are found, they will be processed according to the applicable law.
For their actions, the eleven perpetrators were charged in Article 53 of Law No. 22 of 2001 concerning oil and gas.
