inp.polri.go.id - The Directorat of Water and Air Police (Ditpolairud) of West Nusa Tenggara Police (Polda NTB) managed to uncover the smuggling of 17,160 lobster seeds in Lembar Harbor, West Lombok.
The smuggling consisted of 16,560 sand lobster seeds and 600 pearl lobster seeds.
Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of Polda NTB, Commissioner Artanto, accompanied by the Director of Ditpolairud Polda NTB, Commissioner Kobul Syahrin Ritonga, said that the disclosure of this smuggling case was thanks to the information from the public.
Based on the information that they received, there was a truck containing lobster seeds that will cross through Lembar Harbor. Then the Operational Team of Ditpolairud Polda NTB investigated the truck with the characteristics referred in the information. The truck was secured by them due to illegally carrying lobster seeds.
"When the team searched the truck at Lembar Harbor, they found sand and pearls lobster seeds," said Commissioner Artanto.
The suspect was charged with Article 29 Jo 26 (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2020 with a maximum imprisonment of 8 years. Then there is also article 88 letter (a) in conjunction with article 35 (1) of Law number 21 of 2019 concerning animal and plant quarantine with a maximum threat of 2 years imprisonment with a fine of 2 billion rupiah.
