Inp.polri.go.id – NTT. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Johanis Asadoma reveals that his institution is ready to secure 2024 General Elections. The statement was conveyed during his personnel and equipment inspection in Mantap Brata Operation rally. “We guarantee that both our personnel and equipment are ready to secure 2024 General Elections, even today,” says the police chief on Tuesday (10/17/2023). He adds that personnel involved in election security operation has been adjusted accordingly. “We have adjusted our personnel according to each election stages. Which means we will deploy our personnel force according to its needs,” he explains further. Regarding vulnerable areas, the Two-Star General explains that according to the 2019 mapping, the vulnerability level in NTT was low. In securing election logistics distribution, particularly in sea routes, NTT Regional Police has coordinated with Indonesian Navy to ensure its security. “Thus, we hope that in 2024 Elections there would be no significant disturbances that could threatened the election. We have prepared 20 ships for security ops to support General Election Commissions and overcome other challenges,” he adds. He also highlights security situation in border areas and says anticipatory measures have been taken by deploying Mobile Brigade and collaborates with Indonesian Military Force. In overcoming terrorism threat, NTT Police has also communicated with Special Detachment 88 Counter-Terrorism to detect and handle any terrorism activities. (ad/my/pr/nm)
