Inp.polri.go.id - Padang. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian has highlighted that over 75,000 members of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) currently not categorized as civil servants have the potential to transition into civil service roles (ASN) or become government employees under work agreements (PPPK).
"There's a collaboration with the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, offering opportunities for non-civil servant Satpol PP members to become civil servants or PPPK contract workers," he said on Sunday (3/3/2024).
The announcement came during the commemoration of the 74th Anniversary of Satpol PP and the 62nd Anniversary of Satlinmas, held nationally in Padang, West Sumatra, antaranews.com.
Minister Tito revealed that there are presently 105,872 Satpol PP personnel, with around 29,000 already holding civil service status, leaving the remainder as non-civil servants.
In the past, he explained, the government's focus for PPPK appointments was primarily on teachers and healthcare workers, while opportunities for general administrative staff were limited and subjected to rigorous testing.
However, Minister Tito said that Satpol PP and the Community Protection Force (Satlinmas) personnel possess specialized skills distinguishing them from general honorary workers.
In light of this, the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform is extending opportunities for non-civil servant Satpol PP members to transition into civil service roles or PPPK contracts in the future.
