Inp.polri.go.id - Arso. The afternoon sun at two orphanages in Keerom Regency, Papua, shone a little brighter on Wednesday (3/6/2026). Officers from the Damai Cartenz Task Force arrived at the Muhammadiyah Arso X and Shalom Arso VIII orphanages, turning what could have been a routine charity visit into a day filled with laughter and shared stories.

At the Shalom Arso VIII Orphanage, the usual quiet was replaced by the sound of children playing games alongside the officers. The children, who had traveled from various remote corners of Papua, including Korowai, the Keerom border, and the Bintang Mountains, eagerly took turns introducing themselves and talking about their dreams for the future.

For these kids, who live far from their families, the afternoon was less about the social aid being delivered and more about the simple warmth of undivided attention and care.

The barriers between the security forces and the locals melted away, replaced by a genuine bond. Alongside the games and conversation, the task force handed over essential supplies to the caretakers of both orphanages to help support the children's daily needs.

Damai Cartenz Chief Inspector General. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani said that building a peaceful Papua goes beyond security measures; it is rooted in human connection and fostering hope for the younger generation.

"Papuan children are the future of the nation that we must protect and support together," he said. "Through activities like this, we want to show that the state's presence is not only in the form of security, but also through attention, care, and affection for the community."

Damai Cartenz Deputy Chief Senior Superintendent Adarma Sinaga agreed, noting that a compassionate, human-centered approach remains a guiding principle for the task force's operations.

“Seeing the smiles and happiness of the children provides positive energy for us," he reflected. "We hope the presence of our personnel among the community can motivate and inspire Papuan children to keep learning, growing, and achieving a better future."
