Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Transportation has forecasted that the peak of travelers returning to Greater Jakarta will commence on 14 April 2024, with the number of vehicles expected to reach 1.87 million.
"The government encourages travelers to head back to their hometowns earlier, preferably from Friday to Saturday," stated Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi on Thursday (11/4/2024), as reported by antaranews.com.
He emphasized that by promoting earlier returns, the public can better avoid potential traffic congestion, particularly on the Trans Java Toll Road.
Drawing from the Ministry of Transportation's records of last year's return flow, congestion was expected in the Salatiga-Semarang area due to the accumulation of vehicles from Yogyakarta, Solo, Ngawi, and Madiun.
"Tuesday marks the return to work, so heading back tomorrow or the day after would be a realistic strategy to evade congestion," Minister Budi Karya explained.
