Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps has prepared traffic engineering on toll roads and arterials to manage return traffic during Eid al-Fitr 2024. "We'll enforce one-way traffic from kilometer 414 at Kalikangkung to kilometer 72 at Jakarta-Cikampek," said Inspector General Aan Suhanan, the Traffic Corps Head, on Thursday (11/4/2024). The contraflow system will be reintroduced from kilometer 72 of the Cipali Toll Road to kilometer 47 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, according to antaranews.com. This decision followed an evaluation post a traffic accident at kilometer 58 during contraflow, resulting in 12 fatalities. Chief Aan emphasized the need for contraflow when the volume of vehicles exceeds capacity, citing predictions of high traffic volume ratio at critical intersections. Operational restrictions on freight transport will be imposed until April 16, 2024. Chief Aan stressed the importance of increasing rescue vehicles, tow trucks, ambulances, and fire trucks on contraflow sections to ensure a faster response to incidents or accidents. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
