inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the Police Professional and Security Division, Inspector General Abdul Karim led the coordination meeting to provide directions to his ranks in Indonesian National Police (INP) HQ and regional police regarding the preparation of 2024 Regional Head Election.

In his instruction, Abdul underscores the importance of police neutrality during the election and reminded that there are firm sanctions to members who are proven getting involved in the political practice during the election.

“Police neutrality during elections is important. We will make sure that police neutrality and objectivity are maintained during the election,” says Inspector General Abdul Karim on Thursday (9/26/2024).

Furthermore, he also reminds his personnel to not hesitate in taking firm decisions against violations committed by police members in the field.

“The commander's wish that I have conveyed now in principle is to unite our perception. I hope that this instruction can also be heard by ranks in regional police,” Abdul says in his wish.

Abdul also adds that the 2024 Regional Head Election that will be held in November has already entered the election campaign days. Previously, the General Election Commission (KPU) announced that the 2024 Regional Head Election will be held in 37 provinces, 415 districts, and 93 cities, followed by 1,553 pairs of regional head candidates.
