inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps appeals to the public to not use motorbikes for long travel during the holiday season of Christmas and New Year.

The appeal was given during the Tactical Floor Game of 2024 Lilin Operation at Madellu Hall last Saturday.

“Public are appealed not to use two-wheeled vehicles for long trips such as from Jakarta to Semarang, Surabaya,” said Inspector General Aan Suhanan in his statement.

Aan also conveyed that the appeal was given with a reasonable reason. Based on their data, the accident rate of two-wheeled vehicles reached 78 percent.

"According to our data, the involvement of two-wheeled vehicles in traffic accidents is very high, 78% involving two-wheeled vehicles," explained Aan

He also explained that his party had mapped crucial points in securing Christmas and New Year, both on toll roads and in rest areas.

"We have conducted an inventory and mitigation of various potential vulnerabilities, especially on toll roads, arterial roads, tourist areas, and at crossing locations," he concluded.'
