inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) emphasized the importance of being aware while traveling to anticipate road accidents amidst the extreme weather during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.

AHY saw that the year-end holidays are often challenged with extreme weather that potentially disturbed land, sea and air transportation, so an effective early warning system is needed.

"Indeed, what must be considered is the weather at the end of this year, at the turn of the year it can also be said to be full of challenges, but of course we must also prepare an early warning system," said the Coordinating Minister for Infra.

Coordinating Minister AHY said that travel should not be carried out recklessly without careful calculation in order to prevent transportation accidents due to bad weather.

He also underlined the need for worst-case scenario preparation, including risk mitigation measures and the establishment of a special task force to handle emergencies.

AHY also emphasized that although the government hopes the situation remains conducive, all anticipations and preparedness steps must be carried out comprehensively.

"We must continue to prepare and anticipate everything," said the Coordinating Minister AHY.
