"We will provide stimulus for workers who are laid off, both material and non-material," said the Minister of Manpower on Monday (16/12/2024).
The stimulus in the form of job loss insurance or JKP is a cash benefit of 60 percent of wages for 6 months. Furthermore, the government will also provide training benefits of IDR 2.4 million, along with the convenience of workers who are laid off to access job information.
In addition, the government will also provide easy access to the pre-employment program.
"With this, we hope that workers can boost their opportunities to return to work by utilizing the JKP benefit claim," hoped the Minister of Manpower.
The various stimuli, he said, also aim to maintain workers' purchasing power when they are laid off. The stimulus is not only limited to workers who are laid off from labor-intensive sectors. The stimulus applies to workers who are laid off from all sectors.
The Minister of Manpower said that for the time being, the benefits are valid throughout 2025. "We are currently designing it until that point (2025)," said the Minister of Manpower.
